Ambassador Jasna Geršak

"Dobrodošli" (=Welcome) on the website of the Embassy of Slovenia in Dublin and thank you for your interest in Slovenia.

I hope the website will provide you with useful information on the Embassy’s work as well as on Slovenia, whether this is your first encounter with the country or you have visited it before.

From the Celtic kingdom of Noricum, early Middle Age Irish monks and St Fergal to James Joyce, Slovenia and Ireland share parts of their history – and future.  Slovenia is not only a Central European and Alpine country, but also a Mediterranean one. Every year, thousands of Irish tourists visit the Alpine gems of Bled, Bohinj and Kranjska Gora or the picturesque town of Piran on the Adriatic Coast, golf at Bled or ride at the world-famous Lipica (Lipizzaner) Stud Farm, admire the Postojna Caves in the Karst, stroll through the cosy down-towns of Baroque Ljubljana or Maribor, visit the oldest Slovenian town of Ptuj...

How friendly are border police officers?

Dear Visitors!

The Ministry of the Interior - Police has prepared a survey that measures the performance of police officers at Slovenian border crossings, their attitude towards passengers and their outward appearance. Though the results of the survey have no statistically applicable value, we will try to consider the opinions of all visitors participating in this survey. Thank you for filling it in. It will take only a few minutes of your time.

The survey results should be published this autumn. There are 22 questions in this survey.
